USADSF - What is this Virtual 5k Challenge?

Hello USADSF community!  Last week we announced opening registration for the virtual 5k race.  Many of you have already signed up and I look forward to seeing more of you joining us!  What is a virtual 5k?  Well, first, it's convenience such as no parking problems. no crowds. no long Porta Potty lines. There is no start gun or nervous, pre-race chitchat with other runners. You simply choose your own starting line, whether it's a treadmill or a neighborhood street.

Once you register online, you download the race app, then between Aug. 4 - 18, you walk jog, run or wheelchair the 5K distance in one day or spread it out over a few days.  Finally, upload your finishing time and a few days later you're mailed a medal and/or shirt. Simple. The best part is uniting with many sweaty comrades to support a great cause. And for those of you who like to post selfies and social media posts, you could win $100!  All of the net registration proceeds will go to support Dr. Glenn Anderson Diversity and Equity Fund.

Also, save the date of August 11 as we celebrate USADSF's 75 years!  This will be a very special evening  you don't want to miss. Dr. Donalda Ammons will be emcee and we will have special guests and award announcements.  More to come in the next few days!

Have a great week!
