The United States Deaf Soccer organization has been busy preparing for the World Deaf Football Championships set to take place in Capaccio, Italy, on June 19th to July 2nd, 2016. Both the women's and men's USA teams met recently for training camp and are now preparing to depart the USA for Italy.
For the women's team, Head coach Amy Griffin and Assistant Joy Fawcett have announced their first roster for the 2016 Deaf World Cup in Capaccio, Italy. The women's team are the current defending Deaf World Cup Champions. The 19 player roster will rely on veteran stars Meghan Maiwald and Liza Offreda to lead the team to another Deaf World Cup Championship.
The USA men's coaching staff Head Coach Dave Kunitz, Interim Coach Billy Phillips, and Assistant Coach Ken Noll have announced their roster for the 2016 Deaf World Cup in Capaccio, Italy. The team will feature long-time veteran and team captain Trip Neil alongside Michael Lawson, Matthew Eby, and goalkeeper Chris Jones. Newcomers Mike Schmid and Raul Silva look to make an immediate impact for the Americans.
Team USA Women's Soccer will face Turkey on June 22nd. Team USA Men's Soccer face off with Japan on June 21st. The official schedule is posted at
