COVID-19 (Coronvirus) Update from USA Deaf Sports Federation

2/27/20 2:30PM EST

Dear USADSF Family,

Due to the devastating spread of coronavirus around the world, here is an update from USADSF regarding the impact of the coronavirus on Team USA’s participation in upcoming sporting events.

As we all are aware, there are some countries taking precautionary steps to prevent the contamination of coronavirus.  There have been additional outbreaks in countries where upcoming deaf competitions will be held. We are monitoring the situation closely with ICSD and the host countries.

USADSF will continue to adhere to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) advisory policy as it relates to outbound travel from the United States to other countries. The health and safety of our USADSF athletes, coaches and team leaders is of utmost importance to us and we will continue to monitor the situation with CDC, Department of Homeland Security and the US Olympic & Paralympic Committee as they are also monitoring this situation very closely for the upcoming Summer Olympics & Paralympics in Tokyo.

As new information becomes available to us, we will immediately post on our website and share with our NSOs via email. We will take every precautionary measure necessary to keep Team USA athletes and staff safe at international competitions.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or the office for assistance.

Thanks,

Jim Crane
Executive Director
USA Deaf Sports Federation
